Our Story

More Than a Cooking Class

Happy Herb grew from our founder’s recovery journey after treatment for Stage 3 breast cancer, and her return to organic, plant-based living.

Today, we share a passion for healthy food, wellness and Thai culture in every experience we create.

Our Journey

2018

The Diagnosis

A Stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis changed everything overnight. Surgery, radiation and chemotherapy followed, along with a search for a gentler way to rebuild.

Recovery

Food as Medicine

Unable to find truly clean, chemical-free produce, our founder began growing herbs and vegetables at home and rediscovered the connection between food and wellbeing.

The Farm

A Garden Becomes a Farm

What began as a personal plot grew into a full organic farm, guided by patience, seasonal rhythms, care and respect for the soil.

Today

Happy Herb Is Born

Happy Herb opened its doors to share the story, the farm and the food. Guests now come to harvest, cook, learn and reconnect.

The values that guide everything we grow, cook and share

What We Believe

Food Is Medicine

Every herb, vegetable and meal can be an act of care when it is grown and prepared with honesty.

Connection Heals

Cooking and sharing stories together creates warmth, friendship and belonging around the table.

Nature Restores

Our open-air kitchen and organic garden are designed to help guests slow down and return to themselves.

Community Matters

We support local farmers and makers so every visit helps strengthen the community around us.

Thai Wisdom

Traditional Thai cooking teaches balance, patience and respect for every ingredient.

Sustainable Living

From farm to table, we choose what is good for the earth, our health and future generations.

Standards Behind the Soil

Growing With Care, Guided by Standards

Our founder believes good intentions should be supported by clear practices, farm records and outside review. These standards help Happy Herb grow with greater care, consistency and accountability.

Good Agricultural Practices certification logo
Current · Valid to December 2027

What Is GAP?

Good Agricultural Practices is Thailand’s standards framework for responsible crop production. Our separate certificates cover green oak food crops and cannabis herbs, with each standard focused on growing, harvesting, records and traceability.

  • Documented farm and crop records
  • Responsible soil and water management
  • Careful handling of fertilizers and other inputs
  • Clean harvesting and traceable produce

What it means here: our growing process is documented, reviewed and continuously improved rather than relying on good intentions alone.

What Is SDGsPGS?

SDGsPGS is a locally focused Participatory Guarantee System for organic agriculture. Farmers and community stakeholders learn together, review growing practices and build trust through participation and transparency.

  • Community participation and peer review
  • Shared organic-growing knowledge
  • Local accountability and transparency
  • Continuous learning between growers

Our status: Happy Herb was certified for the 2023–2024 period. We have not renewed it yet, so we present it as part of our standards journey rather than as a current certification.
